About Me
My name is Jordan Faust and I am a junior at Colorado State University. I am majoring in English with a concentration in Writing with a minor in Spanish. I grew up in Denver, Colorado and have traveled much of the United States. With my travels I have stayed in many different hotels and have noticed a growing trend in their attempt to “go green.” Going green is a term that I have encountered almost everywhere I go. People are realizing that we are damaging our natural environment by the way we live our life. When I was asked to explore and research a topic for a project in my Writing Arguments course, I decided to investigate the ways in which hotels are attempting to “go green,” and the importance of their decision to implement sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. I am extremely glad I chose this topic because I believe that it is an important aspect for both the hotel and its consumers in the attempt to decrease the harm we impose on the environment. I now have more insight on what to look for in hotels and their green accommodations while traveling, how to persuade hotels to implement green practices, and why those practices are beneficial.
